Homemade Electrolyte Sports Drink

This easy to make DIY electrolyte sports drink has 20 times the potassium as Gatorade, plus other electrolytes, vitamins and minerals, and has real cucumber and lime flavor.

The electrolytes your body needs include: calcium, potassium, sodium, chloride, magnesium, bicarbonate, and phosphorus.

I grew up playing sports and drinking Gatorade. They have a great marketing campaigns and you see all of the professional athletes drink it on TV. When I was doing my long-distance bicycle rides not that long ago I was using their three product offering. They had a pre-workout product, a workout hydration product, and a protein recovery product.

I decided to check on the electrolytes and ingredients in Gatorade. The Ingredients are: Water, Sugar, Dextrose, Citric Acid, Salt, Sodium Citrate, Monopotassium Phosphate, Gum Arabic, Glycerol Ester Of Rosin, Natural Flavor, Yellow 5. “Natural Flavor” can be so many things, even MSG. 12 fl oz (1 serving):
