Creamy Old Bay Shrimp Salad or Sandwiches

Terrific shrimp salad recipe that can be either a salad or on shrimp salad sandwiches. It’s quick and easy because salad shrimp come already cooked.

Either make a salad with baby lettuces, avocado slices, and cherry tomatoes or make sandwiches with butterhead lettuce leaves and toasted sourdough bread.

If you’re having brunch, serve with Bloody Caesars.

Creamy Old Bay Shrimp Salad or Sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 1 lb pre-cooked salad shrimp

  • Dressing
  • 1/2 cup Kewpie mayonnaise

  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1/2 Meyer lemon, zested and juiced

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Old Bay

  • 2 green onions, finally chopped

  • 1 stalk celery, finely chopped

  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill

  • 1 garlic clove, minced

  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt

  • freshly ground black pepper

  • Salad
  • mixed baby lettuce leaves

  • 1/2 teaspoon sweet paprika

  • avocado slices

  • cherry tomatoes

  • Sandwiches
  • toasted sourdough bread

  • butterhead lettuce

Directions

  • Shrimp and dressing
  • In a bowl whisk together mayonnaise, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, lemon zest and Old Bay.
  • Fold in onions, celery, dill, and garlic.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Taste the dressing and correct seasonings.
  • Gently folding the precooked shrimp.
  • Shrimp salad
  • Arrange baby lettuces and distribute the shrimp salad amongst the plates.
  • Sprinkle paprika over.
  • Add avocado and cherry tomatoes if desired.
  • Serve chilled.
  • If you’re having brunch serve with Bloody Caesars.
  • Shrimp salad sandwiches
  • Toast sourdough 8 bread slices.
  • Arrange butter lettuce leaves on four slices.
  • Divide shrimp salad amongst the four slices with the lettuces.
  • Top with remaining toasted sourdough bread slices.
  • Cut each into four rectangles which will be easier to hold, and transfer to lunch plates.
  • If you’re having brunch serve with Bloody Caesars.
